In the 14th Century, Edward III granted the fief of Dun Adhair to Baron Tyne de la Fee. His Treaty with Faery was sealed by a marriage between a Mortal Man and a Fairy Queen. Generation after generation, the manor and it's lands have passed from heir to heir
But in the Age of Victoria, an attack on Dun Adhair left the rightful heir in the hands of the Sidhe court and their Demon hordes. His children, neices, and nephews each a possible heir to his gift, were killed, captured by enemies, or fled into exile.
When the captured Heir died, the Grandaughter identified as his successor could not work the ancient magic. Dun Adhair remained silent fortress no one could enter.
But now Helen's aunt is dead, and Helen is the heir by mortal law. Having lost her mother at birth, and having grown up in the human world, she knows nothing of her heritage, Fairy arrogrance and misogyny, the terrors of Sidhe court, or the torture in Demon prisons.
